PV Sindhu through to quarterfinal: Ajay Jayaram failed to make it again

Indian Shuttle Queen PV Sindhu made it to quarterfinal of Badminton Asia Championship by beating Aya OHORI of Japan by 21-14 21-15 in a clash that lasted for 40 minutes. While Ajay JAYARAM faced HSU Jen Hao of Chinese Taipei but failed to go through 2nd round and crashed out by 21-19 21-10

The world number three Sindhu defeated Dinar Dyah Ayustine of Indonesia 21-8  21-18 in a one sided clash which ended in 31 minutes, while world’s no. 8 Nehwal lost to Japan’s umseeded Sayaka Sato 19-21 21-16 21-18 in the women’s singles after fighting her heart out.
Seeded seventh, Saina had won the bronze medal twice in the prestigious event in 2016 and 2012.
13th ranked and India’s currently top ranked men’s single players Ajay Jayaram defeated fifth seeded Houwei Tian of China 21-18 18-21 21-19 to progress to the second round of the men’s singles event.
In the mixed doubles event, Pranaav Jerry Chopra and Sikki N Reddy lost to Chinese top seeds Siwei Zheng and Qingchen Chen 15-21 21-14 16-21, getting knocked out in 50 minutes.
