India U-17 Shot stopper Dheeraj Singh accepts Motherwell FC offer for trials in Scotland. Scottish Premiership side currently holds the fifth position and has won six major trophies as reported by the TOI
The 16-year old goalie is expected to attend a one month trial and if his performance impresses any coaches he might get a long-term contract. Dheeraj is contracted with All India Football Federation (AIFF) till December 31, 2017. Dheeraj will represent Indian Arrows in the I-league and then will leave to Scotland for trials.
Dheeraj is currently training with Indian Arrows in Goa. The 16-year old said that he wants to move up the rank. Dheeraj also impressed A-league runners-up Perth Glory. Dheeraj said that, “I am feeling more confident than ever before about moving abroad. After the performance in the U-17 World Cup, my confidence is on a high. I feel this is the right move for.”
However, Dheeraj is expected to play for Indian Arrows in I-league untill his trials which may take place in March. The shot stopper also said that, “It will be good or me if I move abroad. My next aim is to break into the senior national team. Constantine has been doing an impressive job and I really want to be a part.”
