Jamshedpur FC have secured the services of Australian star Tim Cahill ahead of the 2018-19 Indian Super League (ISL) season.
Cahill becomes the seventh foreign signing for Jamshedpur FC and will be counted as a marquee signing, which means his wages do not come under the established salary cap.
The 38-year-old Aussie is a familiar name among the Premier League faithful, having played for Everton for eight long years between 2004 and 2012. Following that stint, he has played in the United States, China and in his native Australia with Melbourne City FC.
He last turned out for Millwall in England where he began his footballing career.
Jasmhedpur FC are set to fly out to Madrid for pre-season and the Australian will link up with his new teammates in Spain.
“I know I can help the team on and off the park with my leadership and experience. I want to help grow the game and encourage young kids to play football. I’m looking forward to beginning this next adventure, meeting my teammates at training camp in Madrid,” he said on social media after signing the contract.
