Chennai City FC have announced their third foreign player signing for their upcoming I-League season. Pedro Javier Manzi Cruz is their latest signing from Spain.
Pedro has previously played for clubs such as Marbella FC, Ibarra FC and L’Hospitalet. Uruguayan origin player is a goal scoring center forward and will be a key addition to the Chennai based club.
Pedro comes from L’Hospitalet to Chennai City FC with a good form as a leading goal scorer for his club in the Segunda Division B. The center forward has got 17 goals to his name this season for L’Hospitalet and is expected to continue his good form in I-League as well.
Previously the club from South announced the signing of playmaker Sandro Rodriguez Filipe and Full back Roberto Eslava Suarez. Both has played for UD Las Palmas in Segunda Division B. Bringing Spanish flavors will boost their performance with some talented Tamil Nadu players in the bench waiting for opportunities.
Chennai City FC have produced some stars such as Soosairaj, Nandha Kumar, Edwin Vanspaul and Pandiyan who will feature in the Indian Super League coming season.
Chennai City FC coach Akbar Nawas will be trying to achieve something in the coming season having coached Tampines Rovers earlier.
Singaporean coach with Barcelona’s Jordi Villa as assistant coach will look to challenge for the title. Jordi is also the director of team’s youth development programme and has scouted some players from senior division in Chennai Super Division football league likes of Pravitto Raju,21, who has impressed Jordi.
Raju played as a midfielder for Indian Bank helping his side to win the title. With this signings fans are expecting to achieve something big in their coming I-league season.
