Yesterday Bengaluru FC defeated defending champions of Hero Indian Super League ATK with the help of skipper Sunil Chhetri’s fabulous goal. Bengaluru dominated the whole game at their home ground and registered a win after the consecutive loss to Chennaiyin FC and Jamshedpur FC respectively. We witnessed some good football yesterday and here are 5 taking points from yesterdays game.
1- Vintage Chhetri
Sunil Chhetri is with Bengaluru from their first season of I-League and helping them winning titles continuously. Chhetri was playing on the left flank but was unable to make an impact on the game so the coach Albert Roca decided to move him into the central place and it helped them very much.
Chhetri received a backpass outside of ATK box and stroked from a distance of 25 yards and his shot had enough quality to find the back of the net. That was absolutely brilliant shot and after that goal, he was almost everywhere on the pitch, in the forward line, midfield and even he was helping his side’s defence as well.
2- Miku is the backbone of BFC
The leading goalscorer of Bengaluru in the ISL was once again one of the best players for BFC. Miku was once again doing what he does best, pressing hard.
He won a corner for BFC in the very first minute of the game. Though he wasn’t on the scoresheet yesterday and was replaced after 75 minutes, he played a vital role for BFC.
3- Rahul and Subhasish are turning out to be the signing of the season
Rahul Bhekhe and Subhasish Bose are playing some extraordinary football for Bengaluru. After losing Rino Anto to Kerala Blasters BFC was in some tension to find a good fullback and eventually, they found Subhasish. Former Mohun Bagan player is doing a great job for them and he has everything, he can make a good overlapping run, he has skills, good pace.
28 years old Rahul is another best signing for BFC and he is a versatile defender who can play as a fullback and centre back both. Rahul has started in every game for BFC and has played almost every minute of the game.
4- Lack of Finishing
BFC got the win and that’s great for them but they were very poor in finishing. Miku missed some tough chances in the first half but it was the second half where they missed more chances which had to be converted into goals. Chhetri’s shot was well saved by Debjit in the 61st minute and there was a chance for Miku to score.
In the 78th minute Nobrega who came as a substitute hit the inside part of the pole and he should have done better. Paartalu got a free space on a corner in the 79th minute but his header went straight into the gloves of Debjit.
You can say the biggest miss of the match was that move made by Alwyn George in the 81st minute. Everything was fine Nobrega done the good thing by giving backpass to Paartalu and Australian man found Edu Garcia inside the box but Garcia missed the scoring chance.
5- Brilliant Atmosphere
It was a Sunday evening and Kanteerava stadium was almost fully packed. There were 18,000 fans cheering their team with their hearts out. West Block Blues are very famous for their passion and support for Bengaluru FC but now East Blockers also doing some great job.
For the whole 90-minute stadium was on fire and coach Albert Roca was very pleased with the home support as he was pumping the fans to cheer them more louder.
